Earlier this week, we were informed that on Saturday 15th February we will be experiencing a full power outage across the whole Keilor Public Golf Course site.
This will have a significant impact on our operation on the day and we wish to highlight the issues so you are aware in advance.
With a view of increasing safety, for pedestrians in and around the car park, as well as cars parked in the carpark, we have recently hired Pacific Coast Design to redesign the first hole. As a result of this plan, a new tee box will be built, incorporating all three teeing areas into one 550sq/m tee box, split over 3 tiers, along with changes to the fairway bunkering and the carpark adjacent tree line will be both tidied up and heavily planted throughout to improve the safety and presentation of the area from the fence line at the 2nd tee back to the shop area. The area where the current Blue and Red tees are located will be levelled to ground level, to allow a more suitable and safe location for carts to be located and allow us to increase our fleet in due course, to a planned 18 carts.
We had originally planned to start these work at the beginning of March, but with the opportunity to do so next Saturday, given the challenges already in place, we have been able to bring these forward. As a result, we will be removing the left hand bunker from the fairway, and creating a new bunker on the right hand side ( as you look from the tee ) where the mound currently is. This is part of our stage one works and the major earthworks should be completed on the Saturday 15th February, with additional shaping and turfing to occur through the week after. There may be temporary tees making the first a par 3 for up to 2 days whilst this occurs, but we will be able to minimise the down time of the hole by completing the heavy works on the 15th.
Once the fairway works are complete, we will turn our attention to the teeing area, which will be rebuilt and new Santa Ana Couch laid in place. During this time there will be a diversion in place to access the temporary tee, which will be further down the cart path.
We thank you for your patience during these changes and disruptions.
